Twin Farmhouse Bed Ana White Modern farmhouse bed plans. the step by step plan follows, with diagrams and shopping lists and cut list. for your convenience, the plans include everything you need to make this bed in a twin, full, queen or king (both standard and california king). thank you for using our plans, it is much appreciated. 1 – 2×6 @ 69″ (base of panel) 2 – 2×4 @ 48″ (legs) 1 – 1×3 @ 78″ (top of headboard) cut your moulding to fit your bed exactly. i started by cutting the panel boards and sanding the edges. i held the boards in my hand while sanding down the edges that would be seen, to give them a more defined “plank” look. For headboard, mark the board 1" in from all outside edges of 2x6 and apply glue on top of the 2x4. lay the 2x6 on top of 2x4 and attach with 3" screws. repeat with the footboard. step 7: determine the height you want for the bed and attach the bed rails to the legs according to the bed frame instructions. step 8:. Step 4: add the top of the headboard. to make the top of the farmhouse headboard sturdier, we added a mantel piece on top. since the mantel rests on top of the legs, it also supports the panel weight and adds stability. (the panel essentially hangs from the mantel, and the mantel in turn rests on the legs.) we used a 2 x 4 for the headboard.
