Audi Tt 1 8t Fans Not Working Temperature Sensorо This video shows the location of the temperature sensors for the coolant and the radiator sensor and a fix for the fans. There are only 3 issues that cause this. first is the temp sensor that screws into the radiator. if that does not close the connection at a certain temp it will not allow the voltage to be relayed to the relay box under battery thus the fans will not come on when car is getting warm. second is the relay box itself.

To test it out of the car, you just need to wire it across the terminals of the battery. if the fan works when you test it, then it might be the fan controller which is near the thermal switch, under the battery. this is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. 2003 audi tt 1.8t the symptoms are as follows: both fans only operate on high speed. both fans only operate when ac is on. no after run fans. fans cycle on high speed for a few seconds on and off. not overheating, ac works fine. both fans were replaced about 3 years ago. I can't believe how close i am but there's something tripping me up. the radiator fans on the audi tt roadster restoration aren't working properly at all. i'.
