Beetle 2000 Vw A C Compressor Not Engage And Cooling Fan Diagram Youtube A c compressor not engaging. the issue started when the car was over heating causing the epc, abs, and brake light to come on. i noticed that the fans were not engaging so decided to change the fan control module and the top battery fuse box due to the alternator wiring melting it. when this occurred i decided to change the flange temp sensor. This includes 98 10 beetle, 99 06golf, and 99 05 gti gli jetta bora. the fuse as shown in the picture normally does not fail but the fuse box under it does. it melts and this particular part sends power to the cooling fan thermal switch and the fan control module. the fan module also sends power to the a c compressor.

Check to ensure that the electric fan over the condenser is engaging. if the cooling system works better on the highway (where fans aren’t needed), your beetle may be having fan issues (blown a fuse, bad motor, wiring harness damage). faulty compressor. a faulty compressor will not move the refrigerant through the system properly. 1. ac blowing no air at all. usually the culprit. if your volkswagen beetle has no air moving through the climate system at all, that’s a lot easier to diagnose than the air that is blowing not being cool enough. when there’s no air flowing through the car’s cabin, a bad blower motor usually causes this scenario. This is on my 2000 beetle tdi manual transmission. radiator fans are not turning on. if i turn on the a c nothing happens. i have gone thru a lot of threads about this issue, nothing helped yet. here is what i have done. warm up the engine to normal temp, let it sit idling no fans come on. turn the a c on, no fans come on.

Ac fuse is position 5 which is a 7.5amp and position 25 which is 25amp fuse. see if the clutch is engaging. at idle with the ac off the center of your ac compressor pulley should not be moving. also, turn your ac on for a minute or so and touch the ac compressor, it should be cold to the touch if it's working. To test a fan motor, unplug the electrical connector at the motor and use fused jumper wires to connect battery power and ground directly to the fan. if the fan does not operate, replace the motor. 2. if the motor tests ok, check the cooling fan thermo switch, located at the bottom of the radiator on the driver's side.
