I had previously had my 1720 in my shop forva good going over and lots of sheetmetal work and painting. it ran perfect when it went in, but when i tool it back out i no longer have a working 3 point hitch. only thing related to hydraulics that i touched was changing the hyd. filter, and unscrewing the flow control valve that adjusts the speed. The 5.00x15 or 23x8.5 12 front tires and 11.2x24 or 13.6 16 rear tires are used for tractors with 2 wheel drive. the wheelbase is 65 in (1650 mm). the ford 1720 is compatible with a 78" front mount blade, 63" front mount snowblower, ford 7108 front end loader with lift capacity to full height of 900 lbs (408 kg), and ford 757b backhoe. Actuate the control lever with the pto engaged and the engine running. if you see a bunch of fluid running down from the bottom of the hydraulic cover plate area underneath the seat, you have a major leak in the hydraulic cylinder. if you don't then the problem is with the control valve and linkage.
