Sr20det Transmission Rebuild Kit In this video, we continue the process of my sr20det rebuild by discussing what i am going to be using for my rebuild in addition to why i decided to purchas. Figuring out what went wrong is the most important step during a rebuild! the sr we will be working on came out of my drift car. it has standard sized acl main and rod bearings, a 0.9mm apexi mls head gasket, arp head studs, a dual rocker guide conversion and a greddy oil pan. We must first start with the exterior bolts. there are 2 small bolts holding the head down to the block outlined here that must be removed. and then these two bolts clamping the head to the front cover must also be removed. now it’s time to break the head bolts studs loose. extreme care must be taken here. the head studs have to be loosened. Starting from the outside bolts, break the bolts holding the crankshaft bearing caps down. break the outside pairs, then the next 2 pairs in, and then finally the inside pair. once they're removed, you can lift the girdle off. remove the rear main oil seal carrier to make it easier to remove the 5th bearing cap.
