We ran our dishwasher at most 120 times in the 2 year time period before we needed to replace the pump. i contacted whirlpool customer service, and they stated the pump warranty had expired after 1 year. the representative stated the pump is not a kitchenaid part and not covered after the initial 1 year warranty. This is my 4tth kitchenaid dishwasher in the last 20 years and it is by far the best. but then again any of the kitchen aid products would be better than the matag we bought just 3 years ago. this new kitchenaid is very quiet , cleans well and loads easily. We love our kitchenaid dishwasher model:kdpm604kps with the extended prodry (fan enabled) system. our daughter purchased a similar kitchen aid dishwasher and would sometimes need to let the plastic items in finished loads air dry for a few additional minutes. this model dries everything perfectly. it's incredibly quiet when operating.
