May 20, 2020. messages. 98. today was the last day of duck season here in georgia and i’m already looking at next year. this was my first year ever duck hunting and i had a blast. i’m not in a prime location for waterfowl hunting, and i knew that going into it. of course i killed my share of woodies, a pintail, and a beautiful black duck. For teal, i prefer to use steel, but if i'm going after larger ducks and geese i like hw13. my most effective 16 gauge load is 1 1 8 oz. of hw13#4. i use a cheddite hull, 28.5g of steel, a pt1680 wad, mylar wrap, 1 4" felt, with a roll crimp. the load tested at 1353 fps and 9452 pressure. reply like.
