Base engine for the us is now the s line 2.0t ea888evo5, this time at 268 hp. sq5 engine is a similar ea839evo 3.0t making 362 hp. both are using dsgs (as opposed to zf8 for the s model) and the us spec will not be getting any mild hybrid assistance, for some reason, they will be pure ice. Still glad i went stage 3 on my sq5 rather than wait for the b10 s5 sq5. actually looks like it took a step forward unlike the ho hum 3er and abysmal c class. not entirely convinced 13 hp mild hybrid 7sp dual clutch is the performance bump befitting of a new generation of vehicle (s5) but maybe. i'm guessing the b10 sq5 gets the same treatment.
