Pioneer Cld V2400 Laser Disc Player Youtube There is nothing industrial about this player, it's a cld 980 990 hybrid with a computer io port. it has a 'light' tray like the 80 series players and doesn't even give off the light industrial feel the v2200 does. but you do get digital audio, which can be very important for later disks. Forget dd or dts wth this player. it's not equiped for such. dd needs the deadicated ac 3 coaxial output that's on post 1995 pioneer players. you need a toslink or regular coaxial digital output for dts. have fun playing around with this player, but it's not gonna be any good for advanced (ac 3 dts) playback. Good for you, these industrial players are built like tanks. i have a v2800 with a similar scanner, still haven't got the membrane rc though. since you asked the scanner is meant as a means of quickly controlling the player using a textbook or manual etc without the hassle of punching in a number on the remote.
