Sep 10, 2016. #15. to each his own but the ultimate pbass for me is the 2011 mim i bought used 3 years ago. 3t sunburst, tort pickguard, rosewood fretboard, babicz bridge, and basslines qp pickups. this is by far the most smooth playing pbass i've ever had my hands on and the tone is awesome!!!.

Seems like everyone has a different take on the ideal p bass cool to see so many different looks at such a timeless bass. for me, it's a light ish fender alder body, vintage reissue tort pick guard, either a lollar 10% overwound, rio grande muy grande or emg geezer pickup, fender jazz neck with rosewood board, and lollipop tuners. Imo the ultimate bass is the precision bass. i prefer them made by fender with rosewood fretboards, but i have a avri57 with maple that just kills. since they made 7 billion by now, it's safe to say not all were crafted to perfection, especially when they began to mass produce them in the mid 60's when cbs bought the company. [ attach] this lull is a steal at 1200 i expect any instrument guitar or bass to not only work, but work well for $1200. that's like saying a lexus for $40k is a steal. no it isn't. a high end nissan for $20k is a steal and will work every biot as well as the lexus.
