Windhill21 2d Shapes This week in maths we have been learning how to name and describe 2d shapes such as: triangle. square. rectangle. circle. hexagon. we encourage the children to try and find these shapes in our environment. can you try and find some shapes in your home?. In maths this week, year 3 have been looking at lines, angles and 2d shapes. we have learnt how to identify parallel lines, angles (right, acute and obtuse) and what the properties are of a range of different shapes.

Polygons are 2d shapes made from straight lines that meet at points called vertices. there are two different types of polygons. regular polygons. irregular polygons. regular polygons have equal side. lengths and equal interior angles. interior angles are the angles. inside the polygon. Circles. a circle is a 2d shape with one curved side and no angles. circles are used to represent planets, the sun, and the moon. circles also exist in the shape of a coin, the pupil in your eye, the side of a lollipop, or a yo yo. 4. triangles. a triangle is a 2d shape that has three sides and three angles. Shapes. each page of your material is set as a background image on a powerpoint slide. this allows you to draw on the page as well as move objects onto the page. great for telepractice! same as above, but with some of our most common token symbols. keep the ones you want and delete the rest to make an interactive game for remote play.
